Q: I received an email saying there's an update available. How do I go about updating my program? Will I lose modifications (blinds, payouts, sounds, colors, backgrounds, etc...)?

A: To update your program, simply download the update zip file from this website. Then, extract the SimpleTourneyManager2.xla file and save it over the file of the same name in your \addin directory. When you start the program for the first time after replacing your .xla (addin) file, you'll receive a message that briefly describes the changes implemented in the update.

Q: How do I change the background for my timer screen?

A: Go to the Timer tab and click the "Customize" button on the bottom of the screen. Double-click in the background file text box at the top of the window to open a file selection dialog box. Pick whatever picture file you want from your computer. It must be a bitmap, jpeg or gif file.

Q: How do I change or enable/disable the sounds used for the various alarms/notifications?

A: Go to the Timer tab and click the "Customize" button on the bottom of the screen. Double-click in the various sound file text boxes to open a file selection dialog box. Pick whatever sound file you want from your computer. It must be a wav file. To enable or disable the various sounds, just check or uncheck the boxes adjacent to the file name text boxes.

Q: How do I customize the messages displayed on the top of the timer screen?

A: Go to the Timer tab and click the "Customize" button on the bottom of the screen. Enable or disable the messages by checking or unchecking the boxes adjacent to the messages. There are several "stock" messages that can be enabled or disabled. The text for these messages will be updated automatically and dynamically. There is also space for up to 10 user-defined messages on the right side of the form.

Q: How do I change the color of the text on the timer screen?

A: The color of the text on the timer screen can be changed by simply clicking on the text you want to change. A color picker dialog box will appear. Note: when you change text color, you are changing the color of the text you selected as well as other similar, nearby text. This grouping cannot be changed, and was implemented to make it quicker and easier to modify the timer screen. Some quick experimentation is all it takes to get accustomed to the groupings.
